In (A), hierarchical classification codes "#1", "#10", and "#1032" are obtained for a search word "curry rice". In (B), with regard to a comparison character string "Curry rice. Food consisting of rice with curry thereon", the number of times of appearance of large classification code "#1" (food) is four; the number of times of appearance of middle classification code "#10" (rice) is two; the number of times of appearance of small classification code "#1032" (curry rice) is one; the number of times of appearance of middle classification code "#11" (spice) is one; and the number of times of appearance of small classification code "#1154" (curry) is one. In (C), the numbers of times of appearance determined in (A) are vectorized. The numbers of times of appearance determined in (B) are vectorized. Similarity is calculated by finding the inner product of the synonymous vectors. In (C), the similarity is 7. By automatically selecting a target range for ambiguous search, accuracy of ambiguous search can be improved.
