PURPOSE: An optical fiber switch and a switching method are provided to automatically execute accurate switching between optical fiber array blocks having a plurality of channels. CONSTITUTION: An input terminal optical fiber array block(100) mounts a plurality of optical fibers. A main output terminal optical fiber array block(200) mounts the plurality of optical fibers. A preliminary output terminal optical fiber array block(300) mounts the plurality of optical fibers. A light source(400) is connected to the preliminary output terminal optical fiber array block and sends an optical signal. A light receiver(500) is connected to one end of the input terminal optical fiber array block and senses the optical signal from the light source. A first fixing jig(600) fixes the input terminal optical fiber array block. A second fixing jig(700) supports the main output terminal optical fiber array block and the preliminary output terminal optical fiber array block. A moving actuator is combined with the first fixing jig and 3-dimensinally transfers the first fixing jig. A controller(900) controls moving actuator and transfers the input terminal optical fiber array block.
