<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote measurement system for suppressing the number of optical fibers for long distance which connect between remote places as much as possible and suppressing deterioration of measurement accuracy even when optical fibers to be measured are installed at remote places. <P>SOLUTION: A remote measurement system has: measurement light generation means for generating probe light P1 and pump light P2; polarization synthesis means for performing synthesis P4 of the probe light and the pump light generated by the measurement light generation means at a state that polarization surfaces are different from each other; an optical fiber F5 for transmission at one end of which synthetic light from the polarization synthesis means is made incident; polarization separation means which is connected to the other end of the optical fiber for transmission and for separating the probe light from the pump light; polarization surface adjustment means for matching the polarization surfaces of the separated probe light P6 and the pump light P7; an optical fiber to be measured, which is installed to a measurement object; and probe light detection means for making the probe light and the pump light with the matched polarization surfaces incident from both ends of the optical fiber to be measured to detect probe light P9 emitted from the optical fiber to be measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
