<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining if a shaping die for a quartz glass is deteriorated or not, which can easily determine the extent to which the shaping die is deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for determining if a carbon shaping die 10 for shaping the heated quartz glass 20 by pressure is deteriorated or not, wherein the extent to which the carbon shaping die 10 is deteriorated is determined based on electric resistance values of shaping die planes 11a, 13a and 14a, each of which abuts on the quartz glass 20 in the carbon shaping die 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
