The battery cell has several electrodes that are spirally arranged in electrode-separator unit of housing (10), and are comprised with uncoated metallic region. A material layer (100) is provided between uncoated metallic region and the housing such that the uncoated metallic region is partially covered, where dielectric strength of the material layer is 40-180 kV/mm. An insulation film (12) is coated in the inner surface of the housing. The material layer is made of polyimide and polyester. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for manufacturing lithium ion battery cell; and (2) motor vehicle.
