The invention relates to a solvent (2) for selective absorption of CO2 from the flue gas of a combustion plant. The solvent (2) comprises an aqueous solution of a secondary amine (4) as an active scrubbing substance and an additive (6), the additive (6) comprising a salt of vitamin C or E (3). The invention further relates to a process for providing an absorption liquid, and to the use of the solvent (2) for selective absorption of CO2 from the flue gas of a combustion plant.
