PURPOSE: An automatically opening/closing staff for measuring a ground level is provided to for worker to portably carry the staff while the staff is light and made of plastic materials. CONSTITUTION: An automatically opening/closing staff for measuring a ground level comprises a staff rod(100), a staff head(200), an insertion type water level(300). The staff rod is formed into a cylindrical shape, and comprises silk-printed gradations on the surface. The staff rod is foldable with a stepped structure, and comprises rod joints, in which the diameters are gradually small. The staff head is formed into the cylindrical shape, and comprises the staff rod. The staff head controls the automatic opening and closing by delivering hydraulic power to the staff rod. The insertion type water level is inserted into the staff head, and sets a standard horizontal position of the staff head and rod.
