<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting apparatus having a torque converter, applied to a vehicle carrying out idle stop, capable of improving fuel economy without carrying out fuel cut restoration in the deceleration process of the vehicle, and capable of reducing cost without needing a powered oil pump. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmitting apparatus has the torque converter 1, a clutch means 3 capable of assuming the first power transmitting state and the second power transmitting state, an oil pump 31, a stepless speed change device 25 capable of continuously changing a speed change ratio, a clutch control means 4 capable of assuming the first power transmitting state or the second power transmitting state, and an engine control means 22 automatically stopping an engine to carry out idle stop with the proviso that vehicle speed becomes not more than predetermined speed and capable of starting the engine in the case of releasing brake operation or stepping on an accelerator in the idle stop state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
