The method involves optical scanning an object i.e. postal package (P), from two different viewing directions. Computer-available three-dimension (3D) models (Mod1, Mod2) of the object are produced using scanning signals so that the models describe regions of a surface of the object. The models are transmitted to a data processing system with a monitor. The 3D models are represented on the monitor. A requirement of a user of the system is detected for continuation of transport in form of an input in the system. Transportation of the object is continued based on the detected requirement. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for transporting an object.
