<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for replacing a railway viaduct column, which enables a space under a viaduct to be widened concurrently with the replacement of the railway viaduct column. <P>SOLUTION: In a construction method for replacing a railway viaduct column, plastic hinge sections 2 and 2' of an existing railway viaduct column 1 and the column 1 are removed; drilled holes 5 and 5' are formed at positions to newly serve as plastic hinge sections; a protective cap (on the base side of the railway viaduct column) 6 for the plastic hinge section is installed; axial reinforcements 7 and 7' are inserted into the drilled holes 5 and 5' and fixed by being filled with pieces 8 and 8' of mortar; joints 9 are disposed at the leading ends of the opposed axial reinforcements 7 and 7'; hoop ties 10 are installed on the axial reinforcements 7 and 7'; the protective cap (on the web structure side of the railway viaduct column) 6 for the plastic hinge section is shifted to a position of the joint 9; and concrete 12 and 12' is poured on the axial reinforcements 7 and 7' where the hoop ties 10 are installed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
