<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power control device and a power control method that reduce noise. <P>SOLUTION: A power control device 1 comprises: a battery 2; a switching voltage regulator 3; a linear voltage regulator 4; and a power control section 5. The power control section 5 functions as a mode determination section 51, a switching control section 52 and a clock frequency control section 53. The mode determination section 51 determines an operation mode of another apparatus on which the power control device 1 is mounted. If the operation mode of another apparatus is a noise reduction mode, the switching control section 52 turns on the linear voltage regulator 4 and turns off the switching voltage regulator 3.
