PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an interval while keeping parallelism without deforming an optical substrate even when adjusting the inclination of the optical substrate.

SOLUTION: A variable spectroscopic element 1 includes: a base member 2; two optical substrates 4a and 4b facing each other at an interval in an optical axis direction; a plurality of actuators 4c which are disposed at an interval in a direction crossing an optical axis in parallel between the base member 2 and one optical substrate 4a and which move the two optical substrates 4a and 4b in the optical axis direction; and connection members 8 comprising an elastic material for connecting the actuators 4c and one optical substrate 4a.
