Interactive television systems with digital video recording and adjustable reminders

A method of providing a plurality of users with access to television programs is proposed. The users receive broadcast television programs each on user equipment, each broadcast television program having a scheduled start time and stop time. A subset of the broadcast television programs are selectively stored on user accessible storage of a server remote from the users for an access period. The users are provided with access to each of the stored programs during the access period. Each of the stored programs is removed from the storage at the end of its access period.
