This vehicle charging system is provided with: a vehicle (14) equipped with a battery (13) and a charging control unit (53); an external power supply (11); a charging cable (12) equipped with power lines (12L) and a first communication control unit (33); external power-supply power lines (11L); a second communication control unit (24); a power-consumption obtaining unit (23) for obtaining power consumption (PIF); a rechargeable-power calculation unit (23) for calculating rechargeable power (PEV); and a transmission unit (43) and a control unit (34) provided within the charging cable.
