<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting machine having insertion members, for example, knitting needles, in which the longitudinal movement of each insertion member is reliably prevented or at least limited when a driving butt of each insertion member is sunk into a needle bed. <P>SOLUTION: In a needle groove (10) of at least one needle bed (100) of a knitting machine, an insertion member (1), for example, a knitting needle having a driving butt (13) is provided movably in a longitudinal direction.
