<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device, a reproducing method, and a recording method which can define GOP structure of a Dependent view video stream obtained by encoding according to, for example, an H.264 AVC/MVC profile standard, and can record the GOP structure in a recording medium such as a BD, or can reproduce the recording medium where the GOP structure is defined. <P>SOLUTION: A Base view video stream is an H.264/AVC video stream. GOP structure of the Base view video stream has the same structure as the GOP structure of the H.264/AVC video stream defined in a BD-ROM standard. The GOP structure of a Dependent view video stream is also defined as the same structure as the GOP structure of the Base view video stream, i.e., the GOP structure of the H.264/AVC video stream defined in the BD-ROM standard.
