PURPOSE: A method for sensing whitespace in a wireless LAN system and an apparatus for performing same are provided to continuously grasp the channel state of the whitespace band while maintaining a protection function for an allowed user. CONSTITUTION: An STA(STAtion) receives a sensing request including a target channel of a candidate report channel and a sensing target whitespace band(S210). The STA senses the target channel(S220). If a user who is allowed for the target channel is detected, the STA determines a sensing result transmission channel. The STA transmits the sensing result to an AP(Access Point) through the determined sensing result transmission channel(S230).
