<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the safety of a mechanical multistory parking device having a battery charging stand by stopping an electric power supply to the battery charging stand or by stopping a lifting operation of a pallet lifting body when some failure has occurred in the battery charging stand or when the lifting operation of the pallet lifting body is in an undesired condition. <P>SOLUTION: Both of a charge control unit 28 for controlling the electric power supply to a battery charging stand 24 and a lifting operation control unit 30 for controlling the lifting operation of a lifting mechanism that lifts a pallet lifting body 16, each acquiring the condition of the counterpart, conduct operation control by means of cooperative control means 26.
