<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for coloring carbon fiber, and carbon fiber colored by the method and the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A silane compound including a pigment is produced and allowed to come into contact with carbon fiber 3 for electrically evaporating the pigment, whereby producing colored carbon fiber 4. When carbon fiber used in a body or an airfoil of a passenger airplane in particular is thus colored, there is no need to apply undercoating on carbon fiber originally in a blackish color, resulting in reducing the weight of the whole airplane.
