<p>PURPOSE: A method for controlling an air conditioner is provided to control a wind direction by measuring the intensity of receiving signals between a portable terminal and an indoor unit and using a communications quality. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an air conditioner comprises following steps. An indoor unit control application installed in a portable terminal(20) is processed. A wireless network between the portable terminal, the indoor unit(10), and a wireless external modem(2) is formed. The location of the portable terminal is detected using the RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) between the indoor unit and the wireless external modem and a communications quality. The wind direction is set according to the location of the portable terminal.</p> |
