The profile element (1) has flat steel products comprising organic layers on its surfaces. A cutting edge is covered by a protective coating (18). The cutting edge adjacent edge strips (21,22) of the surfaces of flat steel product is overlapped with protective coating. The surface of edge strips is activated by protective coating. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) structure of commercial vehicle; and (2) production line for producing profile element for structure of commercial vehicle.
