The hold-down device has a stowage unit which is fastened at a lower end of a carriage unit (3) that is arranged on a guide rail. The carriage unit is engaged with a foot element (8) provided at the lower end of stowage unit, based on the operation of a latch element (13) in a locking position. An actuating bolt (12) is operated on the carriage unit, such that carriage unit is actuated to move on guide rail against a stop element. The latch element is moved to a release position in which the foot element is removed from the rear-movement position of carriage unit. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) hold-down system; and (2) vehicular brake test stand arrangement.
