<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which enables good communication in wide ranges on a communication main surface of the communication apparatus which mainly conducts the communication when conducting the communication with a communication target such as a noncontact IC card. <P>SOLUTION: A communication apparatus includes: a coil part 2; a metal body disposed near the coil part 2; and housings 25, 26 including the coil part 2 and the metal body. An opening of the coil part 2 is positioned substantially perpendicular to the metal body, and the winding direction of the coil part 2 is positioned substantially parallel with an outmost end part of the metal body.
