PURPOSE: A multimedia contents processing method and device are provided to reduce the work load of a mobile device by implementing preprocessing of multimedia contents through a host device so that the mobile device downloads, stores, and reproduces the preprocessed multimedia contents. CONSTITUTION: A host device(1100) creates a preprocessed multimedia file through processes for changing the configuration of a multimedia contents file and/or processes for reproducing the multimedia content file. A mobile device(1200) downloads and reproduces the preprocessed multimedia contents file. The host device includes a preprocessor(1120) which decodes the data bit stream of a multimedia contents file to obtain a preprocessed multimedia contents file in response to request from the mobile device. |
