PURPOSE: A terminal and a brightness control method thereof are provided to minimize the brightness control error of the user and to offer the suitable brightness by using illumination sensor and a proximity sensor. CONSTITUTION: A brightness sensor(170) measures the illumination around a terminal. A proximity sensor(180) senses an object within fixed distance. A storage(150) stores the bright table for controlling the display unit brightness. A display unit(132) converts the brightness according to controls of the controller. If an object is not sensed, the controller converts the brightness of the display unit according to illumination. If an object is sensed, the controller maintains the fixed brightness of the display. |
