<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystallization method and a crystallizer in cooling crystallization without a seed crystal, formable of monodisperse particles of any particle count in any particle diameter without modification to or addition of equipment to an existing crystallizer. <P>SOLUTION: In cooling crystallization without a seed crystal, the crystallization method includes cooling of saturated solution prepared by dissolving a compound and yielding the crystal of the compound from the saturated solution. The saturated solution is rapidly cooled, based on a relationship of a predetermined temperature difference ΔTs between temperatures before and after rapid cooling of the saturated solution to the particle count and average particle diameter of the seed crystal generated by the rapid cooling of the saturated solution. A seed crystal with a particle count and average particle diameter corresponding to the temperature difference ΔTs is generated. The temperature of the saturated solution is maintained at a temperature after rapid cooling for a supersaturation consuming period.
