<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which can select from among more numerous prediction modes and increase an operation amount related to selection of a prediction mode. <P>SOLUTION: A prediction mode selection part 106 selects a prediction mode used for encoding an encoding target pixel in accordance with a predetermined conditional expression by using a local decoded value of a pixel in a line at least one line previous in an encoding order to a line including the encoding target pixel, prior to encoding of the encoding target pixel, and calculates a prediction mode index corresponding to the selected prediction mode. A prediction mode index storage part 107 holds the prediction mode index. A prediction part 108 creates a prediction value of the encoding target pixel based on the prediction mode index of the encoding target pixel read out from the prediction mode index storage part 107 by using local decoded values of a plurality of adjacent pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
