PURPOSE: A gauge controlling method of controlling semi-finished tire's gauge using a tire building machine is provided to minimize errors of the molder, thereby automatically controlling length change within the allowable tire performance deviation. CONSTITUTION: A gauge controlling method of controlling semi-finished tire's gauge using a tire building machine comprises the following steps: preparing a plurality of sensor units which have predetermined distance from the carcass drum; measuring distance between the plurality of sensor units and the carcass drum(s100); measuring distance between the plurality of sensor units and the semi-finished tire product which is reeled on the outer circumference of the carcass drum(s200); calculating difference between the measured value; determining tolerance of the computing value and the standard thickness of the semi-finished tire product(s300); down regulating the pressure of the multi-roll if the calculation value is bigger than the tolerance range(s600); and up regulating the pressure of the multi-roll if the calculation value is smaller than the tolerance range(s700).
