RETICULATED ELASTOMERIC MATRIX, ITS MANUFACTURE, AND USE IN IMPLANTABLE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide devices for topical treatment of patients, such as humans and other animals, including biodurable, reticulated elastomeric matrices that are resiliently-compressible, and their manufacture.

SOLUTION: The device includes the resiliently-compressible, reticulated elastomeric matrices, such as polycarbonate polyurethanes or polycarbonate urea-urethanes, wherein the reticulated elastomeric matrix has a number of pores with an average diameter or other largest transverse dimension of at least about 20 μm.
