<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external measurement AF type focus detector capable of achieving an excellent focus detection accuracy for a subject at a short distance and a proper throughput for a subject at a long distance. <P>SOLUTION: If a subject distance is less than a prescribed threshold value, while stored pixels SA5 to SA25 are selected at one of a pair of line sensors, more pixels SB5 to SB29 are selected in a direction in which a subject field image is deviated at the other line sensor as stored pixels. Or, pixels contained in a range defined by moving the range of the stored pixels selected by the one line sensor by a prescribed number of pixels, are selected as the stored pixels of the other line sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
