<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral bracing system, which can be fabricated easily, quickly, and at low cost, while functioning effectively. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention discloses a lateral bracing system which connects a column 104 to a beam 102 in a construction. The lateral bracing system comprises a pair of buckle-restraining plates 112, each of which is fixed to a top flange and bottom flange of the beam. The lateral bracing system further comprises at least one yielding plate 114 for each buckle-restraining plate.
