The component (1) has a recess (2) formed for a trough of a tank, where a part of an edge area (3) of the recess is reinforced by a reinforcing component (4) that is made of metal e.g. aluminum and steel and/or plastic i.e. fiber reinforced plastic. The reinforcing component is firmly connected with the part of the edge section by a welding process, a soldering process, a gluing process, a screwing process, a riveting process, a pressing process, a collar joining process or a partial recasting process. The reinforcing component is arranged at a back side (1.1) or a front side of the component. The tank is designed as a fuel tank such as petrol tank, diesel tank, natural gas tank, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank and hydrogen tank.
