The present invention relates to a method for controlling the operation of at least one micro-cogenerator which forms part of an energy-producing system which also comprises an auxiliary heat production system and a thermal storage system; said method optimizes the operation of at least one micro-cogenerator according to economic criteria. The method includes optimizing an objective function, wherein it is possible to include a series of weights which penalize non-compliance with certain restrictions, and the values obtained from the optimization are used to control the operation of the at least one micro-cogenerator, values between 0 and 1 being those which regulate the power of the micro-cogenerator.
