<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a putter head that enables a user to easily put topspin on a ball with less temperature dependence. <P>SOLUTION: A recess 2H is formed on a front surface (face surface) of a head body 2. A face insert 3 is disposed in the recess 2H. The face insert 3 comprises a plate part 3a that constitutes most of the face surface of the putter head 1, and a bracket part 3b that is extended backward from an upper edge of the plate 3a. A longitudinal section has an inverted L shape.
