<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of insulation between stationary contact points due to wear powder. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary switch 1 comprises a housing 2, on which a housing recess 21 is formed; and a rotor 3 rotatably mounted to the housing 2 in a plane orthogonal to a depth direction of the housing recess 21. Furthermore, a rotary switch 1 comprises a plurality of stationary contact points 4 (first stationary contact point 41, second stationary contact point 42) fixed to a bottom face of the housing recess 21 away from and in line with each other in a rotation direction of the rotor 3; and movable contact points 5 provided on the rotor 3, and separated from and approaching to each of the plural stationary contact points 4 together with rotation of the rotor 3. A convex part 26 projecting in a depth direction from the bottom face is provided at a position adjacent to a gap 24 in a direction orthogonal to the depth direction of the housing recess 21 and the rotation direction of the rotor 3.
