#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining an aging condition of an oxidation-catalytically effective exhaust gas cleaning component e.g. oxidation catalyzer (3), by correlation of hydrocarbon existed in an exhaust gas upstream of the component with a nitrogen oxide conversion of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyzer (5) e.g. nitrogen oxide reductions catalyzer. Different hydrocarbon portions in the exhaust gas are adjusted in an operating point with temperature of the component and temperature of the SCR catalyzer in a range between 180 degree Celsius and 350 degree Celsius. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for operating an exhaust-gas cleaning system of an internal-combustion engine e.g. diesel engine, of a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method determines the aging condition of the oxidation-catalytically effective exhaust gas cleaning component by correlation of hydrocarbon existed in the exhaust gas upstream of the cleaning component with the nitrogen oxide conversion of the selective catalytic reduction catalyzer, thus avoiding excessive degradation of the cleaning efficiency of the exhaust-gas cleaning system and unwanted higher fuel consumption due to more frequent constraint regeneration of the particle filter, hence reducing the expenditure. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic block diagram of a motor vehicle combustion engine with an attached exhaust-gas recycling system with a selective catalytic reduction catalyst and an upstream arranged oxidation-catalytically effective exhaust gas cleaning component. 1 : Diesel engine 2 : Exhaust gas line 3 : Oxidation catalyst 4 : Particle filter 5 : Nitrogen oxide reductions catalyzer. |
