PURPOSE: A mold for forming a molded resin article is provided to produce a high quality resin form because thin and linear residue corresponding to a communicating groove is completely removed from the resin form. CONSTITUTION: A mold for forming a molded resin article comprises a forming block(31). The forming block comprises a communicating groove(35) and a dummy pocket(36). The communicating groove is connected to a cavity(32) and linearly extended along the periphery of the cavity. The dummy pocket is extended along the periphery of the communicating groove in a ring shape. A resin material(M) filled in the cavity overflows and flows into the dummy pocket through the communicating groove.
