PURPOSE: A chunk selection method and an apparatus thereof for a P2P streaming service are provided to select chunk in consideration of sparseness of a block. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus selects one or more chunks as a section for download(S410). The apparatus calculates a priority about selected one or more chunks(S420). The apparatus selects chunk transmission request(S430). The apparatus transmits a chunk transmission request message to neighbor nodes(S440). The apparatus downloads the requested chunk from the nodes(S450).
