Each of the suction extraction shoes 126 further includes a fluid extraction passage that communicate with a vacuum plenum through one of a plurality of vacuum plenum branch passages of the rotary surface cleaning tool. An operational surface of each suction extraction shoe 126 further includes a plurality of suction relief grooves 216 formed across it. The grooves 216 are substantially perpendicular to the fluid extraction passage.
