<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for preventing an impersonating operation by a third person when a plurality of devices are simultaneously logged in by one user and preventing a processing result object such as printed matter from being left alone. <P>SOLUTION: When a user of a client 300 logs in a compound machine 100, the compound machine transmits log-in information including a user ID to a server 200. When the log-in information is received, the server 200 specifies the client 300 from the user ID included in the log-in information, and transmits lock instruction information including lock release information to the client 300. When receiving the request, the client 300 locks an operation until information matched with the lock release information is input. When print processing is completed in the compound machine, the information for releasing the operation lock state of the client 300 is reported to the user.
