The method involves inputting guidance command to servo actuator over a steering wheel. The forces and moments affecting the steering are detected by using measurement device by blocking the steering with transducer (8). The measurement device is arranged between steering housing and ball head retainer, and is provided with adjustment sleeve (14) detachably arranged around a rack shaft. An independent claim is included for device for determining characteristics of power steering apparatus of vehicle.
