<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely output data while maintaining confidentiality without registering a public key taken out from a printer, a client PC, or the like to an LDAP server. <P>SOLUTION: A print system according to an embodiment of this invention determines if an identification information and a password which are input to a printer are proper based on information stored in the printer in advance. If the identification information and the password are proper, the print system creates a user certificate, which includes a secret key and is encrypted, and a public key of a device certificate. The print system requests inputs of the identification information and the password by recognizing that the created user certificate and the public key are directly received from the printer connected through a network cable.
