<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially-oriented white polyester film, which can prevent a lightguide plate from being scratched while improving the reflectance for attaining high luminance when used as a reflector in a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display device, particularly, as a reflector in a side-light type backlight unit. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially-oriented white polyester film includes a light reflection layer and a support layer located on at least one outermost layer.
