<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting head having a piezoelectric element with excellent contactness between an electrode and a piezoelectric layer. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting head includes: a pressure generating chamber 12 communicating with a nozzle aperture 21; and a piezoelectric element 300. The piezoelectric element 300 comprises: a platinum first electrode 60; a piezoelectric layer 70 comprising a complex oxide having a perovskite structure and comprising bismuth, barium, iron, manganese and titanium; and a second electrode 80.
