<p>Provided is a liquid crystal element that is highly transparent, wherein the space between substrates is sealed with a seal and the seal portion is not reflective. The liquid crystal element is characterized by comprising: a first substrate arranged on the visible side; a second substrate opposing the first substrate; a sealing material arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer sealed by the first substrate, the second substrate, and the sealing material; and a muslin structure or moth-eye structure arranged between the first substrate and the sealing material. A more transparent liquid crystal element is provided by the formation of a smooth refractive index distribution between the sealing material and the first transparent substrate by the muslin structure or moth-eye structure.</p> |
