PURPOSE: A shading device and method for a solar collecting plate for a sola power system are provided to prevent damages to a solar collecting plate by covering the solar collecting plate with an awning. CONSTITUTION: A shading device for a solar collecting plate for a sola power system comprises a solar collecting plate(10), an awning(100), a control unit, and a driving unit. The solar collecting plate collects solar energy. The awning prevents damages to the solar collecting plate caused by the overheating by covering the solar collecting plate if the temperature of the solar collecting plate is more than pre-set temperature. The control unit determines whether to install the awning or not by measuring the temperature of the solar collecting plate. The driving unit installs or releases the awning according to the control unit.
