<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pacing lead for a left cavity of the heart, which has a very small diameter and includes an active portion stimulating a plurality of areas of epicardium. <P>SOLUTION: The pacing lead includes an extendable microcable to be implanted in cornary vein systems 14-22, the microcable being formed from an electrically-conducting material and having a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end has an active portion 34, the active portion 34 has a plurality of clear naked areas, and the clear naked areas form a network of stimulation electrodes electrically connected to each other for contact 40 with the wall of a target vein 22 of the cornary systems. The proximal end has a terminal for connecting the microcable to a generator of an active implanted medical device. The expandable microcable is composed of a plurality of twisted wires with a French diameter of 0.5-2, wherein at least some of the twisted wires include a core material which is formed of a radiopaque material and covered with a sheath of a mechanically durable material, or a core material which is covered in the reversed manner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
