<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents the occurrence of paper jam, an increase of a user's burden, and the occurrence of contamination inside the apparatus due to remaining unwanted residual toner on an intermediate transfer belt or a photoreceptor, in the case of printing on various sizes of paper, with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus compares the length of recording paper actually conveyed and the length of recording paper previously set. If the length of recording paper detected by recording paper length detection means is determined to be shorter than the length of recording paper input by recording paper size input means, the image forming apparatus then stops the image forming operation of an image forming unit to a photoreceptor before the image formation length of the image forming unit in the sub-scanning direction reaches the recording paper length detected by the recording paper length detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
