An electric power steering device is provided with: a reduction mechanism comprising a worm shaft and a worm wheel which mesh with each other; and a motor connected in a drivable manner to the steering shaft through the reduction mechanism. The teeth of the worm wheel are provided with deformable sections which can be elastically deformed, and also with rigid body sections which have higher rigidity than the deformable sections. The deformable sections are located further toward the outer side than the contact surfaces of the rigid body sections, the contact surfaces making contact with the teeth of the worm shaft.
