<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material stirring device in roll coating equipment which is capable of uniformalizing the components of a coating film formed on a belt-like material such as a steel belt even when the coating material contains a mixture of a plurality of metal powders having large specific gravity difference. <P>SOLUTION: The coating material stirring device 1 provided with a plate section 6 arranged in the coating material 4 housed in a coating material housing pan 2 and a blade section reciprocal motion means 8 for carrying out the reciprocal motion of a blade section 6 along the axial direction of a pickup roll 12 a part of which is immersed in the coating material 4 includes a stirring member 10 attached to a blade section 6 and arranged in a position adjacent to or in contact with the bottom surface of the coating material housing pan in the coating material 4.
